Apple Mincemeat


 4 apples, peeled, cored and chopped

1 ½ cups raisins ( golden and sultanas)

½ cup mixed peel

¾ cup brown sugar

½ cup dried cherries, chopped

½ cup dried figs, chopped

½ cup dried apricots, chopped

½ cup amaretto

¼ cup Appleton’s Rum

zest and juice from 1 orange

zest  and juice from 1 lemon


Combine all ingredients and cook on stovetop on medium heat until ingredients are well combined and a thick syrup is formed.

Cool and store in a closed container in fridge or use immediately.

Will keep in fridge for approximately 1 month.
